Cook County PHHS – Harm Reduction and Overdose Prevention

Cook County Public Health and Human Services has the following free and confidential harm reduction supplies available in all 4 bathrooms at the Cook County Courthouse, accessible during regular business hours:

Fentanyl and Xylazine Test Strips
Test strips can detect the presence of fentanyl or xylazine in any drug batch, including non-opioids.

Overdose Prevention Kits
Naloxone/Narcan is a medicine that temporarily reverses the effects of an opiate overdose to prevent death. Opiates include drugs like oxycodone, codeine, fentanyl, and heroin. Naloxone training is available monthly at no cost at Cook County Higher Education. Registration is available on their website (https://mycche.org/events/).
